The Serious Computerist |
If you would like to support this site, donations of any size are greatly appreciated.
The Serious Computerist is committed to serious software and resources for the Atari 8‑bit line of Home Computers!
This site is dedicated to the memory of Bill Wilkinson and Optimized Systems Software Inc. Bill and OSS made software and tools for the Atari 8‑bit computers that had no equal. Their software and tools are one of the main focuses and reasons for this site's existence.
I'd also like to dedicate this site in memory of Frank Ostrowski and Happy‑Computer magazine. Frank created one of the best extended Atari BASIC language systems — and certainly the best free one. Turbo‑BASIC XL has stood the test of time and remains one of the most popular and supported languages on the system.
This site would not be possible were it not for the tireless efforts of those maintaining the great Atari 8‑bit databases for many years. Many thanks to all the individuals involved with those sites, including:
Thanks also to all the AtariAge members who have helped in archiving software and printed materials, including:
A special thanks to AtariAge member Panther, for his generous donation of webspace at AtariVerse.com, and also to the kind AtariAge members that have contributed to this site financially.
